Designer Crush Tuesday: Derek LamYou are here: Home » Blog » Press » Designer Crush Tuesday: Derek Lam

This Tuesday we are crushing on Fashion Designer – Derek Lam.  Derek Lam started work as an assistant for Michael Kors in the 90s.  He left for Hong Kong to work for a large retail brand to only return back to New York and to Michael Kors, to be the new Vice President of Designs for MK Kors line.  He launched his own line in 2003 and debuted it during New York Fashion Week that same year.

His work has been seen on everyone like Rhianna, Kelly Ripa, and our First Lady Michelle Obama.  His pieces have also graced TV on the most ever so popular show Scandal, where Ms. Oliva Pope a*k*a Kerry Washington, has sported a Derek Lam blouse.

Derek Lam designs have a stable look: clean silhouettes and bold fabric.  He creates beautiful feminine pieces that can be worn from day-to-day and can be included in most women’s everyday wardrobe.  His Spring 2015 RTW collection shows this to the fullest.  It gives us boldness, clean silhouettes, different variety of fabric while giving homage to the 70s.

Here are a few of our picks:
